Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using CTMoneyGoal ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering or using CTMoneyGoal you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or 13+ with verified parental consent), have read these Terms, and agree to be legally bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CTMoneyGoal is a personal finance goal-tracking web application that allows users to set savings targets, log contributions, and track progress over time. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use only. It does not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering
• You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• You must notify us immediately at support@ctmoneygoal.com of any unauthorised account access
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts may result in all accounts being suspended
• You may not share your account credentials with others

4. Free Tier

The Free tier is provided at no charge and is subject to these limits:

• Maximum 3 active money goals
• Maximum 50 transactions per goal
• 6 months of transaction history visible
• 5MB database storage allocation
• Basic progress charts only
• No data export

These limits may be adjusted with 30 days' notice to registered users. Free accounts inactive for 24+ months may be deleted after a 30-day email notice.

5. Paid Tier & Billing

The Paid tier is available on three plans:

• Monthly: $6.99/month, billed monthly, cancel any time
• Annual: $39.99/year, billed annually, cancel any time before renewal
• Lifetime: $122.99 one-off payment, access for the lifetime of the Service

Monthly and Annual subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Paid access until then.

Prices shown are inclusive of any applicable VAT. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice to existing subscribers. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or network
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any malicious code
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code
• Use the Service in a way that degrades performance or availability for other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Attempt to circumvent Free tier limits through technical means

Violation may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

7. Your Data

You retain ownership of the goal and transaction data you enter. By using the Service you grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide the Service. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. See our Privacy Policy for full details including your GDPR rights.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, design, branding, and content of CTMoneyGoal (excluding your personal data) is owned by or licensed to us and protected by UK and international copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part without written permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that data will never be lost — please maintain your own backups for important financial records.

Nothing in the Service constitutes financial advice. Always consult a qualified financial adviser for decisions about savings, investments, or debt.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for UK consumers), CTMoneyGoal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

11. Consumer Rights (UK)

If you are a UK consumer, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, including a 14-day cancellation right for digital services (subject to waiver where you request immediate access). These Terms do not affect those statutory rights.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you materially breach these Terms. We will give notice where possible. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@ctmoneygoal.com. On deletion your personal data will be removed within 30 days except where retention is required by law.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept the changes you may close your account before they take effect.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise for EU/EEA consumers.

EU/EEA consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
